Meet Cate
Feel grounded, gain clarity, move with intention.
Whether you’re an adult feeling overwhelmed and stuck in patterns you can’t seem to shift, a teenager navigating big feelings and pressures, or a parent trying to stay connected while supporting your child, this is a space for you.
Together, we’ll make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface.. the beliefs, patterns, and protective responses that might be keeping you in survival mode, and begin to gently shift what no longer serves you. With warmth, clarity and care, I’ll support you to move toward more ease in your body, your relationships, and your everyday life.
I’m Cate
A Qualified Counsellor & Somatic Therapist who works with adults, teens, and parents to navigate life’s more complex and relational terrain: anxiety, emotional overwhelm, stress, parenting challenges, ADHD, identity shifts, and the impact of old patterns that are still playing out in the present.
I support people who feel stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward, especially those who sense there’s something deeper going on beneath the surface but don’t quite know where to start.
My approach is warm, curious, and collaborative. Clients have described me as "compassionate," "genuine," and "insightful," noting that I provide a "safe and welcoming space" where they feel "truly heard and understood." I believe that when we begin to feel safer within ourselves, more understood, more regulated, more connected, lasting change becomes possible. Whether you’re seeking more ease in your relationships, a stronger sense of self, or simply a space to make sense of things, I’m here to walk alongside you as we create new patterns that support the life you want.
COUNSELLING APPROACH
Counselling is a journey of understanding yourself more deeply and finding new ways to move forward. Whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, therapy provides a supportive space to explore what’s beneath those feelings.
My approach is warm, curious, and collaborative. I believe lasting change happens when you feel seen, understood, and safe to explore your experiences at your own pace. Together, we work with your unique story and goals to create meaningful shifts.
I integrate therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment Theory, and Circle of Security principles, alongside somatic techniques including Kinesiology and nervous system regulation. This helps us work not only with thoughts and feelings but also with the body’s wisdom — supporting healing on multiple levels.
Every person is different, so our work is tailored to your needs — whether you’re an individual, a parent, or a teen. Together, we explore your patterns, build new skills, and strengthen your connection to yourself and others, so you can feel steadier, more confident, and more connected in your daily life.
CBT
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) explores the link between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Sometimes our inner dialogue — the automatic thoughts that play in the background — can create patterns of anxiety, avoidance, or low self-worth. CBT helps bring those patterns into awareness and develop more balanced, compassionate ways of thinking. It’s a practical, evidence-based approach that supports emotional resilience and grounded action.
ACT
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you create space for uncomfortable emotions without letting them control your actions. It’s not about avoiding hard feelings, it’s about learning to stay present with them, while choosing behaviours that align with your values. Through ACT, we build psychological flexibility using tools like mindful awareness of thoughts, defusion techniques (separating from unhelpful thoughts), values clarification exercises, and committed action planning. This helps you respond to life’s challenges with more intention and empowerment.
SOMATIC TECHNIQUES including KINESIOLOGY
Our bodies often hold onto stress, emotion, and past experiences in ways our minds can’t always name. Somatic techniques — including kinesiology — help us access and shift these deeper layers. Using tools like muscle testing, acupressure points, breathwork, and nervous system tracking, we work with the autonomic nervous system to support regulation and calm.
Together, we can also explore the subconscious beliefs and behavioural patterns that may be driving your responses — even when they don’t make sense on the surface. By tuning into the body’s cues and working gently with the nervous system, we create space for real, sustainable change from the inside out.
Attachment Theory
Your earliest relationships shape how you connect, cope, and communicate today. Attachment theory helps us understand the origins of relational patterns like people-pleasing, withdrawal, or difficulty trusting and gently rewire them. As you develop a more secure connection with yourself and others, it becomes easier to set boundaries, express needs, and feel safe in closeness which has a positive impact on self-esteem and happiness.
Mindset & Quantum
Our thoughts, beliefs, and internal stories shape how we experience ourselves and the world. Mindset work involves gently bringing awareness to these patterns — especially the unconscious ones — so we can shift out of reactivity and into intentional response. Influenced by both cognitive science and quantum perspectives, this approach recognises the interconnectedness of our inner and outer worlds, and supports meaningful change from the inside out.
